Software Engineer

Job Summary:

The Software Engineer will develop software and procedures for surgical planning and three-dimensional guidance of spinal procedures including spinal fusion. The software engineer will work in a cross-functional environment with mechanical engineers, quality and regulatory engineers, as well as surgeons. The software engineer will independently work across all phases of the software development life cycle and manage software projects and documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define requirements and design specifications
  • Develop algorithms, software and procedures for image segmentation, registration and visualization. 
  • Test accuracy of segmentation and registration procedures
  • Evaluate different display and visualization options
  • Develop user interfaces for use in the surgeon’s office and in the OR
  • Design, implement and test all aspects of the software and procedures
  • Develop software validation and testing protocols
  • Interface with other team members for all aspects of mechanical engineering, quality and regulatory documentation and filings
  • Document all devevlopment efforts as part of FDA and ISO quality systems
  • Participate in 510(k) preparation

Qualifications:

  • MS in computer science or comparable degree
  • 5+ years in medical imaging related software development
  • Extensive experience in computer graphics, image processing, registration techniques, and mathematical optimizations
  • Experience iwht object oriented program in C#/.NET
